Connemara National Park

Kylemore Abbey
Since 1868 the castle at Kylemore Abbey has stood nestled in the Kylemore Valley against the banks of the Pollacappall Lough. This historic and beautiful location offers a perfect day out to visit the nunnery & gardens along with a trip to their famous gift shop.
Derrigimlagh
Explore some of Connemara’s famous bogland through this 5km trail. Traverse this historic landscape that contains such rich history as being the site of John Alcock & Arthur Whitten Brown’s crash landing after completing the worlds first ever transatlantic flight.
Sky road
Take to your bike and cycle the Sky road around the gorgeous Kingstown peninsula. This 16km trail offers you the chance to weave down the country road and take in scintillating views of the Connemara coastline and mountain side.
Derroura Bike Trail
This 16km trail combines the best of thrill seeking mountain biking trails with the backdrop of stunning Connemara scenery. From views of Lough Corrib to epic sights of the Maam Valley this trail offers something for anyone.
Twelve Bens
Take a trek through one of the most scenic mountain ranges in all of Ireland. Whether it’s scaling 730m highs of Benbaun or soaking up the unique flora and fauna that decorate the mountains, any hike through these mountains is sure to be an unforgettable one.
Deep sea fishing
For all the anglers out there, Connemara offers a unique opportunity to fish in a variety of different locations from loughs and rivers to taking advantage of the many fishing tours to try your hand at deep sea fishing.
Killary Fjord
A unique natural part of Ireland’s landscape. A glacial fjord that measures over 16km long, it offers a perfect chance to sail down and soak in some of the phenomenal views of the surrounding Mweelrea Mountain.
