Serving hearty salads as well seafood, burgers, and decadent desserts. We can highly recommend the Connemara lamb burger, it’s amazing! Daily special deals include a drink, so are a great value option. Has a good range of vegetarian options. Enjoy a pint of the local Bridewell Beer on tap here.

Mitchells Clifden

Fine dining on the main square in Clifden. Mitchells has been serving up the finest of local seafood since 1991. The set lunch menu is good value. The fish pie is rich and warming, and the fish finger sandwich is delicious. Book ahead for night time dining, especially during the busy summer months. They get our vote for best chowder in Connemara, and this is a hotly contested category!!

The Fishermans Pub at Ballynahinch is one of our favourite places for a quiet pint of Guinness in the whole of Ireland. Nestle into a comfy leather sofa by a crackling wood fire, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The menu here is big on the classics, like egg sandwiches with cress, Irish charcuterie boards, homemade terrine and chowder (of course!) Their daily fish specials are your best bet for something more filling.

[/fusion_content_box][fusion_content_box title=”#4″ iconspin=”no” image=”http://realadventures.ie/connemara/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Ballynahinch-Restaurant-300×231.jpg” image_width=”200″ image_height=”160″ animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″]

Owenmore Restaurant

Fine dining at it’s best. Cleggan is a busy fishing village. Watch fish being taken straight off the boats from inside this cosy pub. It goes without saying that fish is the order of the day here. Delicious crab claws is our favourite dish, they also serve a great Irish Lamb Stew. Hang around a while and you’re bound to hear some traditional music, you might never leave!

Keoghs of Ballyconneely

This is the meeting spot for our surf lessons and coasteering sessions. Why not grab a bite here before or after your session. Keogh’s is the heart of Ballyconneely. The family run, shop, bar, restaurant and hardware store, is humming during the summer. A large menu has something for everyone. The steak sandwich is our favourite here, tender steak, melted cheese and tasty chips, what’s not to like!

With it’s hundred miles of coastline, it’s no wonder that seafood features strongly on all menus.
