Cancellation Policy

If you cancel 5 days before your activity we can offer you a full refund or reschedule your booking. If you cancel 2 – 5 days in advance we can offer you 50% refund or book you onto another activity as availability allows. If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance we cannot guarantee that we can reschedule the activity for you and we will not refund your money. A no show, late arrival or request to reschedule within 48 hours is the same as cancelling less than 48 hours in advance and the same rules apply. 

If you turn up to the activity and have a child under the age of 8 years old in your group, the instructor may turn you away and you will not be given a refund.  

If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, we will offer you an alternative or full refund minus the booking fee

 

What time are the sessions?

Our Coasteering and Kayaking tours run twice daily:

  • Morning session: 10:00am – 12:30pm
  • Afternoon session: 2:00pm – 4:30pm

Surfing lesson times vary depending on the tides and sea conditions, so exact times will be confirmed closer to your booking date.

We will arrange your our outdoor sauna and jacuzzi to take place straight after your activity.

What age do I need to be?

For the sauna and jacuzzi the minimum age is 16 years old

How much does it cost?

Prices start from €85 per person. This includes:

  • A 2.5–3 hour lesson or guided tour
  • 2 hours access to the outdoor sauna and jacuzzi experience

All specialist equipment and a professional outdoor guide

What will I be doing?

Depending on the activity you choose, you can expect an exciting mix of adventure, fun, and stunning scenery along the Connemara coastline.

Our coasteering tours involve climbing, scrambling, adventure swimming, exploring caves, and cliff jumps — all under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Kayaking tours take you out onto the beautiful Atlantic waters where you’ll explore stunning beaches and hidden corners of the coastline while spotting wildlife along the way.

Surf lessons are designed for complete beginners through to improvers, focusing on ocean safety, paddling techniques, catching waves, and most importantly, having fun.

After your activity, you can relax and unwind in the outdoor sauna and jacuzzi while taking in the beautiful Connemara scenery.

What size of a group do you accept?

Groups of between 6-12 people only

Where do the activities take place?

Our activities take place in two beautiful locations in Ballyconneely, Connemara.

Surfing & Coasteering

Our surfing and coasteering activities take place in Doonloughan, Ballyconneely. We will meet you in Ballyconneely approximately 15 minutes before your session start time, and you can then follow us to the activity site.

Coastal Kayaking

Our kayaking tours depart directly from the beautiful Connemara Sands Hotel & Beach Resort.

Outdoor Sauna & Jacuzzi

Your outdoor sauna and jacuzzi experience also takes place at the Connemara Sands Hotel & Beach Resort.

Booking with Real Adventures was a piece of cake. My friend recommended them to me, and I couldn't thank him enough afterwards. We were a couple, and we had never been on a surf board before. The night before, we were extremely nervous and almost cancelled, but when we met Steve our guide, he put us at ease straight away. The wet suits and boards were of the highest standard and exactly what we needed. When we arrived at the beach, Steve's instructions were easily understood and very much needed. Within an hour, Steve had us both standing up on the boards, and we couldn't thank him enough. An absolute gentleman and a top of his class instructor. Thanks Steve. Will be back soon.
