How to stand up paddle

a mix of kayaking and surfing!

Stand Up Paddle boarding might be considered a relatively new addition to the watersport’s scene in Ireland, but it is fast-becoming one of the most popular, and accessible, ways to explore the ocean – and it offers an alternative for human-powered sea adventures!

Come Stand up paddle boarding with us in beautiful Mannin Bay, Connemara.

We would describe it as a mix of kayaking and surfing; the freedom and positioning of a surf board, with the relaxed pace and paddling of a kayak –this allows you to experience the serenity and unspoilt nature of Mannin Bay. This unique way to travel over the sea will give you an amazing view of the beauty around and beneath you.

Beautiful setting
Tried the paddle boarding with my two teenage kids while on holidays in Clifden. Most beautiful setting for water activities and great fun for the two hours. Will definitely be back. Instructor was excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyable day
Had a great experience paddle boarding on wed 4th with a group of 4 adults and one child. Still laughing. A thoroughly enjoyable day. A big thank you to our instructor Thomas who gave an excellent lesson as well as an impromptu ecology and local history lesson as well. Totally recommended.
